Male dragonflies grab females by the head

So typical.


My friends were complaining about the Cicadas.
“Their huge, it doesn’t matter if you are squeamish about bugs or not, they’ll set you squealing and jumping”.
Sure, especially in the numbers you find them in. I totally get it. But how about having mating dragonflies land on you. I like dragonflies but they are huge and suddenly finding an eight winged two headed five inch creature on you, in flagrante delicto, is a little startling.

Not so startling that I didn’t stop to take a picture of them in the 69 position.
