When it rains, it pours

The living situation may be all but sewn up. The Big party in April will be tackled next. But in the meantime...

The one thing I told R he couldn’t do, change jobs, has shown up unbidden on his doorstep. With a LARGE mortgage looming, I couldn’t conceive contemplating the insecurity, but if it is something he really wants I support that.
Damn I’m such a good girlfriend.
If he does this, I’ll freak out later.

I can't think about that right now. If I do, I'll go crazy. I'll think about that tomorrow.

More inuendo

After my mother saying that the reason I was going to have a reception here (as opposed to the armpit I grew up in and everyone I know has left and everyone else seeks to escape) was because we were showing off "See how well we've done" she sent me this.

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got
together to visit their old university professor. The conversation
soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.

Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen
and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of
cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain-looking,
some expensive, and some exquisite - telling them to help themselves
to the coffee.

After all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor
said:

"If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken
up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is but
normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the
source of your problems and stress.

“Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In
most cases, it’s just more expensive and in some cases even hides
what we drink. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the
cup, but you consciously went for the best cups…and then
began eyeing each other's cups.

“Now consider this: Life is the coffee, and the jobs, money and
position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold
and contain life, and the type of cup we have does not define
nor change the quality of life we live. Sometimes, by
concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee God
has provided us."

God brews the coffee, not the cups . . . enjoy your coffee.

I just can't agree with this analogy. “The cup” is an integral part of “coffee” It is not just a form of conveyance.
First of all if you remove "the jobs, money and position in society" what is left for "Life" to encompass? Sure your loved ones, sunsets, and existence. But if you have a job you hate, if you are destitute, if you are part of the unheard masses it changes the quality of life and no beautiful moment can make it all go away.
Haven’t you found the quality of coffee in a tin, styrofoam or even silver cup is tainted?
An inadequate cup can lessen the quality of what's inside.

Perhaps I am naive and have been tainted by our capitalist society. But still…
What a bitch move on her part.

random conversations

I dropped out of business law before we really got to far into contracts, and even if I hadn't that was so long ago who can remember everything.

“Accounts established by neutral third parties to hold money for a seller or buyer. Your down payment or earnest money can go into an escrow account. Some people call these IMPOUND ACCOUNTS”

That might be where our money is going. The pound.

What's a W-9?

So we are in the process of putting in another bid.
These people want us to close in 14 days but are negotiating like the'd rather die than sell.
From the beginning of negotiations the sellers wanted a pre-approval letter and a W-9.
It turns out a W-9 is a document that releases ALL your info from the IRS to the holder.
LIKE HELL!
I don't even know that much about myself. What's next? They want a list of my sexual partners!
